Since he arrived, Ezra has been a fearless explorer, risking life and limb to conquer the next frontier. This gusto has forced him to develop physical skills quite quickly… so quickly, in fact, that we often don’t have a chance to post about them. We did capture Ezra crawling, a while back, but before we knew it, he flew right past just “walking” to strolling like a hipster down in the Marina (must have learned it from his mom or aunt, because nobody ever accused his father of being hip). Wondering how it all happened so quickly, we went back through the video archives and pieced together a short montage of Ezra from crawling, to walking, to walking while brushing his teeth, to strolling like a hipster. The new video is now in the Photo Gallery.

Ezra Walking, a Montage
Sunday, May 13th, 2012Back to Back Passover Seders
Monday, April 9th, 2012With two young children in tow and a husband whose biggest contribution (of his own admission) was “I peeled the apples, because shelling the eggs was too frustrating”, Holly pulled off back-to-back Seders at our house this year on Friday and Saturday nights. In true Holly fashion, she delivered two creative, custom-designed events perfect for kids (aged 1-5) and adults alike. Of course, there was a “kids table”, but this kids table included a coloring-book Haggadah, finger puppets for the plagues, and even a hands-on “red river” pool with frogs swimming in it—all recounting the story of the Israelites escape from slavery to freedom. The adults (two different families, one each night) enjoyed delicious food (brisket, charoset—with expertly peeled apples!, kugel, and matzah ball soup) and sang the songs, much to the shock and delight of their young’en. Needless to say, by the time the afikoman was found and the prizes delivered, we were exhausted. If you have any energy left from your Passover and Easter celebrations (we hope they were fun, too!), you can check out our new album, now posted in the Photo Gallery.
Fun Trip with the Persinger Family in San Diego
Saturday, March 31st, 2012About a month ago, we packed up and flew South to sunny San Diego for a fun week with the Persinger family. We all rented a giant house with a patio in the back and co-habitated. We bbq’d, visited the playground, flew some kites, and generally pal’d around with Grandpa and Gigi, Aunt Robin, Uncle Mark, Aunt Liz, and cousins Jennah and Carson. We had so much fun that we’ve shared BOTH a video and a photo album, now in the Photo Gallery!
Ezra Turns One and Throws and Outrageous Bash
Monday, March 19th, 2012Let all friends and family now hear this: we are done counting by months in this household, for Ezra has turned One! To celebrate, we went a little crazy and Mommy threw Ezra one heck of a Dr. Seuss-themed party.
Our two boys dressed for the day
With shirts that matched, as one would say
Ezra was Thing Two, and Avi, Thing One
As friends and family joined the fun.
We ate some cake and played some ball
while Dad took pictures of it all
and when the day was finally done
how many pictures? Four Hundred One!!
We chose instead to cut them down
so website visitors would not frown.
But pics alone felt incomplete
To capture such a lovely treat
So click on over, and you will see
a surprise for you, in the Gallery:
BOTH a video and some photos there
Of all the fun we’d like to share.
We’ve memorialized it all for our young son
Images of the day that he turned One
We dream that someday, he’ll reflect and know
That we did our best and tried to show
That having us as ‘rents was “rad”…
Happy Birthday, Ezra! Love, Mom and Dad.

Midlife Challenges
Saturday, March 10th, 2012Avi has reached a new phase in his life: he recently turned three. Like a ton of bricks, it hit him that three is halfway to six and, as we all know, age six is pretty much the beginning of the end. It is therefore not too surprising that Avi had some mixed emotions during his third birthday week. It was a week comprised of some good times, certainly—lots of cupcakes, balloons, and jumping around—but also some challenging moments, as the weight of the world began to press upon Avi’s small shoulders. Fortunately, Avi had some good friends and family with him throughout the week to support him. We have captured the wide range of emotions in a thorough Photo Album, now posted in the Photo Gallery.
Ezra Ivan, Puzzle Master
Sunday, March 4th, 2012Following in the footsteps of his big brother before him, Ezra has begun to explore puzzles and is mastering them in no time. Check out the new video in the Photo Gallery, which captures Ezra dominating the puzzle as if it were a mere child’s toy, and also includes an added surprise…
Ezra on Two Feet!
Saturday, March 3rd, 2012Inspired to help the Patriots less-than-stellar running game, and thanks to a thoughtful gift from some loving aunts, uncles, and cousins, Ezra has been cruising around the house on his own two feet. You can now see this tremendous progress for yourself thanks to a new video now posted in the Photo Gallery. Next up, we’ll hand Ezra a pigskin and see if Avi can tackle him.
New Years 2012 in Boston
Sunday, February 12th, 2012Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Just because it’s nearly Valentine’s Day doesn’t mean that we can’t still spread some winter holiday spirit. GFW celebrated the end of 2011 with a trip to Boston to visit family and friends. We had our first annual(?) Hanukah party at Mimi and Zayda’s house and went to the Berkshires over New Years with some friends from college. We’ve captured the best memories in a photo album, now posted to the Photo Gallery.
